Common Questions About Acupuncture
Does Acupuncture Work?
YES. Throughout history, more people have been treated with acupuncture and Oriental Medicine than all other health modalities combined. Today this medicinal system continues to help people throughout this country and around the world.
Does Acupuncture Provide Long Lasting Results?
YES. Acupuncture addresses the underlaying cause of disease, not merely the symptoms. When correcting the cause of a problem, the results are long-lasting or permanent.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
The number of treatments varies widely according to the condition. Usually one or two treatments per week are recommended. Chronic cases may require treatment for several weeks or longer. Acute problems generally respond much faster. Occasional treatments throughout the year are usually sufficient to maintain good health.
What Should I Expect During The Treatment?
Treatments take place in private rooms, usually with the patient lying down. You can either wear loose clothing or use treatment gowns we provide.
Can I Feel The Pins?
Sometimes there is a mild discomfort that lasts momentarily upon insertion of the acupuncture pin. Acupuncture pins are very thin and are inserted quickly to avoid the sensation of pain. Once the pins are in place the patient usually does not feel them.
How Are The Pins Sterilized?
We use only pre-sterilized, disposable pins. Each pin is used only once and then disposed of.
Is Acupuncture Covered By Health Insurance?
It depends on your policy. More and more insurance companies are covering acupuncture due to public demand.
